I'M MULTI~TASKING PEOPLE!!!

I feel like one of Santa's elves!!

I've been busy in my basement workroom accomplishing many tasks at the same time. You know how we woman are so good at doing that anyways!

I have several orders for embroidered monogram hand towels that I am working to fill. . . along with many other things I need to get done! I bring my laptop down with me and use it for my embroidery programming. In between, I can check my e-mail and BLOGS ~ yeah~~~!! Thank goodness for wireless Internet connections.

My great little machine just goes by itself. I program it and let it go. While it's doing it's thing, I can do mine :)

Yeah, a have a large pile here to finish, don't I?

Here's a completed towel with the wash-a-way stabilizer on the front still (it keeps the towel fiber loops from getting caught in the needle while embroidering). Just need to mist with water and one down, 17 more to go!
I can wrap Christmas gifts while the towels are being embroidered; I just finished a bow for my new wreath that I hung on our Dining Room mirror and am finally getting a chance to clean up after the Great Room Drapery project. Yes, you know, those threads and fabric clippings that seem to just hang around until you sweep/vacuum them up. I'm also placing newspaper ads for our church Christmas services, etc., etc., etc.
Tomorrow, more towels to embroider; I'm stopping to take our oldest daughter to lunch and finishing up with the wrapping of my husband's Christmas presents. Must finish those first. He's flying back home tomorrow night and he can't see his gifts in our closet now, can he?
Next week I hope to start some holiday baking and freezing. What have you been doing?
Blessings. . . until next time,

Relay for Life - Basket and Participation

Looonnnnggggg Day!!!

A quick post and then off for a hot shower and into bed for me!! Today was our township's cancer Relay for Life. What a touching experience.

This is the basket I embroidered items for and compiled on behalf of the 9th grade Cheer Team. We had a silent auction and everything donated was lovely. I made our basket a "French Inspired Bed and Bath Basket." I included a set of Fleur De Lis embroidered hand towels, Eiffel Tower pillowcases with a Fleur De Lis border, Fleur De Lis, soap and various other items for our basket.

Here's a close up of the items I embroidered on my new embroidery machine. I am loving that machine people!! And I am loving using it for causes like this as well!

Here's our gals. Our 9th grade Cheer Team gathering and getting ready to cheer on the survivors at the "Survivor's Walk." Very, very touching!!

I'm not one to believe that teens should sit around and do nothing. . . so I signed up the girls to scoop ice cream for a two hour block. It's so good for this age to "serve" and not always "be served." The girls enjoyed the experience and the customers loved being served by cute little cheerleaders as well!! They were very good for business actually :)
Well, I've been gone from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM. . . off for a shower and La-La Land. Sweet Dreams you all!!
Blessings. . . until next time,

Home Again and Back to Work!!

Oh, Wherever You May Roam. . . There is NO PLACE LIKE HOME!!

Oh, so wonderful to be back home. It was high 70' s yesterday and high 50's today. But. . . I'm not complaining at all!! Actually, I'm loving it after last week!

My little embroidery machine workhorse is going as I type. I'm embroidering the items for the basket I'm donating for Relay for Life's Silent Auction. I'm donating this basket on behalf of our 9th grade Cheer Team. I'll share pictures when my embroidery projects are completed for the basket.

In the meantime, here are some towels that I embroidered for part of our 14 year old's birthday gift. She asked for them for her bathroom. Now, if we could just keep them hanging up and not on the floor!!

Mother's Day Presents!!

Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there in blogland!! . . . And some monogram towels for gifts!!

I'm sure you have all noticed that monograms are big. I mean BIG!!! So, I thought I would put my new (having oh, so much fun with it thankyouverymuch) embroidery machine to good use for Mother's Day presents.

Each mom will receive a personally embroidered, by yours truly, set of monogrammed hand towels for their guest bathrooms. My maiden name and my married name both begin with the same letter. . . so I didn't even need to change the letter. The towel in the middle is mine. I'm keeping it for our guest bathroom. I tried something new with this towel. It's an embossed monogram. You use the same color thread as the towel and it actually looks embossed. It is a little harder to see than the black lettering so I thought the moms would prefer to have something that "pops" like the black lettering.

Here's a close-up of the embossed monogram. Very elegant, don't you think?

. . . next, I'll be working on monogram towels and pillowcases for Cancer Relay for Life. I'm putting together a Paris flair bed/bath basket from the 9th grade cheerleaders as a donation for their silent auction. I'll share pictures when I am finished with that project.

Blessings. . . until next time,

Keeping Busy, Having Fun and Taking Orders

Well, I'm caught up from vacation. . . finally. Now onto other fun things. I shared with you all that I purchased a small sewing/embroidery machine a month or so ago. Many have e-mailed me asking to see what I've been doing on my machine.

Here are a few items that I have embroidered on recently. I am also onto doing graphics. I just finished some embroidered towels for my Powder Room with Fleur De Lis. I'll post those pictures later. I have to duplicate my towels to put a basket together for the cancer Relay for Life. I'll be participating this year with my daughter and the other 9th grade Cheerleaders. I have been asked to donate a basket for the silent auction from the cheerleaders. I thought a basket with bathroom themed items and embroidered towels would be something useful.

A couple of aprons embroidered with the recipient's name. . .

. . .which are tucked inside matching tote bags.

Cotton receiving blankets with the baby's name and. . .

a matching polar fleece blanket. Gotta love that polar fleece!!

And. . . a few more tote bags. I have done many, many of these totes bags. This is just a sampling of what I've finished. I sell them for $6 so that's been a big hit lately. They are nice for gymnastic clothes, music lessons, library books, whatever.

Well, I'm off to start embroidery on a few pillowcases now.
Blessings. . . until next time,
